On Sunday, March 24th we will be hosting a fortified wine and whisky tasting event in the bar. Craig Pinhey will be leading the tasting. Craig will speak about fortified wines as a category, where they come from, how they’re made, how sherry differs from port etc… We’ve got 5 different wines to pair with 5 different whiskies aged in a cask of the same wine. So for example, an Oloroso sherry paired with a whisky finished in an Oloroso cask. It will be interesting to taste the sherry, (or port) on it’s own and then taste the whisky that it is paired with, to see how the wine influences the flavour of the whisky. There will be 2 seatings for this event with 20 seats available for each session. The cost of the ticket is $45.00 (taxes included). Tickets are available only at Hopscotch.
